Check out Seiche Dance Collective in Erie, PA!

Old news, but I am not sure that many people know… I am on the board for Seiche Dance Collective in Pennsylvania. I have been serving as a board member since January of 2024. This organization helps to bring dance to the Erie community. Check out their website, give them a follow on social media, or check out an event in-person!

Branches with Abilities Dance Boston

This summer I took part in a virtual project with Abilities Dance Boston. Branches united dancers from all over through our shared passions for disability and climate justice. The piece I was in was titled, “Rooted Kinship,” and was choreographed by Claire Lane. This piece explores the root network of trees- how they communicate and support each other, relating that idea to the role of community care in society.

The recording of the project premiered September 20, 2025, but is still available for viewing on YouTube.

Casualties– A Film by Cassidy DeVol and Laura McCann

Last year, I got to be a part of a dance film, titled Casualties. Casualties, created by Cassidy DeVol and Laura McCann, was choreographed by Saige Dore Rook and featured music by Cleveland-local artist, Solon. We spent August-November of 2024 rehearsing and filming, with a private premiere of the finished film taking place in January 2025 at the Beck Center for the Arts in Cleveland, OH.

Casualties was available for public viewing in the 2025 Cleveland Dance Festival Virtual Film Gallery November 1st-December 31st, 2025. Additionally, Casualties was accepted into festivals across the country, winning awards for Best Experimental Film at the Highland Square Film Festival and Best Editing at the Black Squirrel Film Festival.

Casualties is now available to view on YouTube.

Workshop Series with Cleveland Clinic Support Groups

Partnering with Akron-local artists, Brian and Sharetta, we offered a series of Creative Arts workshops for Cleveland Clinic support groups in the fall of 2024. Program offerings included dance/movement, music/rhythm, and theater/storytelling. All workshops were held through the Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital in Akron.

Class Series & Showing at The Movement Project

This spring, I put together my first project of my own. Working with four other dancers, we held a 6 week class series and studio performance at The Movement Project in Fairview Park, OH. This project came about to provide training and performance opportunities for dancers not employed by dance companies. We also aimed to bridge the gap between pre-professional and professional by working with various experience levels…from individuals who just discovered dance in college, to those seeking additional training while still in school, to those just graduated and seeking dance outlets, to seasoned freelance dancers…our goal was to create more options for dance in northeast Ohio communities.

Our culminating performance, Introspection: An Informal Showing, premiered a piece of my choreography, Introspection. The piece is meant to be an exploration of the peace & longing of solitude; and an ode to the self-reflective nature that often occurs with in it. My piece was accompanied by shorter solos choreographed and performed by each of the dancers to show their individual style as artists. We also performed a contemporary phrase that I choreographed to highlight some of the concepts we worked on in our weekly classes.

In addition to these pieces that were performed, we also included the audience in the dancing through a group movement activity. It is an important part of my individual mission as an artist to help make dance/movement a more commonplace practice in everyday society, that is accessible to everyone, and not just dancers. By including a group movement activity into the structure of the evening, it was my goal to create a setting where people could not only come witness dance, but also participate in it.
